E-mom tagged me for this meme. I live in Saskatchewan, Canada. My five favorite local restaurants are as follow:
1. Fuddruckers. Saskatoon, Saskatchewan has the only Fuddrucker's restaurant in all of Canada. (I just found that out while I was locating a link for Fuddruckers). Fuddruckers' claim to "The World's Greatest Hamburger" holds true for me. I love the fact that I get to create my own burger and have it cooked the way I want. And they serve more than hamburgers. Fuddruckers has a wide selection of menu items, including baked goods prepared in their own bakery. Their chocolate pie is to die for! This restaurant is not only my favorite; it's a family favorite. My boys love this restaurant, especially the breakfasts.
2. Mykonos. Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Greek food in full fashion. The atmosphere is peaceful, the service is great. Wayne and I have spent many "special nights" out at this fine dining establishment.
3. Chianti Cafe. Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Homemade pasta and sauces. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday pasta frenzy. The gnocchi is one of my favorites, but they've got every kind of pasta dish you could dream of, with many different sauces to choose from. Plus, before your order arrives, you get to munch on french bread dipped in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It's delicious!
4. The Keg. Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Steak. What more needs to be said?
5. The Great Canadian Bagel. Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I love bagels. My husband doesn't. But when I get together with some of my "girl" friends, this is where we like to hang. The fact that we're eating a bagel of our choice (they've got over a dozen types to choose from) smothered in our choice of cream cheese (again, they've got lots of flavors), drinking our Diet Coke and chatting about the mysteries of life, makes female bonding that much more memorable.

The Keg... of course! I grew up enjoying their steak and mushrooms combo. (Lol, I remember when it was called the "Keg and Cleaver.") Thanks so much for playing along. Hugs!
I remeber when the location that is Chianti's now used to be Max's Diner. I loved that restaurant, especially their mud pie. I wish it wouldn't have closed. My new favourite restaurant there (keeping in mind that I make it to S'toon about once every three years or so) has been Moxie's with their white chocolate brownie. We used to love Mykonos and The Keg as well. I'm not a fan of Fuddrucker's but then again, I don't care for hamburgers. My husband loves it. There is never enough time to get to all of our favourites when we go back so we end up being really selective.
Do they still have Capone's Little Chicago Pizza? I loved that, especially after College Inn Pizza shut down. They don't know how to make decent pizza in the U.S. All of their pizzas are built upside down with the cheese first and then the toppings, unlike how they make them in Canada with the cheese going on last.
I have really been enjoying your blog. I am so glad that I found it this week. I love seeing the little glimpses of home. I am desperately homesick for the prairies, but it doesn't look like I will be moving back anytime soon.
In my quest to re-read your past blog posts, I came across this one and thought, "Hey! Here's one I can touch on...I've been to all of those places!"
Imagine my surprise, when I found out I had already posted a comment on this exact same post 5 years ago! I guess I have finally managed to come full circle. I must be at the point where I started reading your blog nearly 5 years previous.
Things haven't changed much in 5 years. Part of my comment included, "I have really been enjoying your blog. I am so glad that I found it this week. I love seeing the little glimpses of home. I am desperately homesick for the prairies, but it doesn't look like I will be moving back anytime soon."
Guess what though? I will be in Saskatoon airport around 2pm on Friday!!!
