My Faith

My life is a testimony to the transforming power of Jesus Christ. God has a plan for my life and I do not question His existence, goodness or power. He has made himself real to me over and over and I long for the day when I will meet Him face-to-face and spend eternity in Heaven with Him. It is through my personal relationship with Jesus that I have the assurance to know where I will spend eternity.

My God is real. My God is personal. My God cares.

What I believe . . .

The foundation of my faith is the Bible, which I hold as the final authority for what I believe and how I am to live.

I believe there is one God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He has made Himself known to me in the Bible and in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. There is only one way to God the Father, and that is through Jesus Christ, His son.

I believe that although God created humans to have fellowship with Him, they willfully chose to defy Him. As a result, we are alienated from God and are unable by our own efforts to restore ourselves to Him.

I believe Jesus Christ came to the earth and voluntarily took the punishment for my sin upon Himself when He died on the cross. He rose from the dead and is the only mediator between man and God. I am able to have a restored fellowship with God by personally choosing to trust in Jesus and accepting the forgiveness that God offers to me as a free gift.

I believe Jesus will come again to judge the world and that only those who have chosen to put their trust in Him will spend eternity in fellowship with God.

I believe the church is to be a place of worship, fellowship, caring, growth and service, and has been commissioned by Christ to spread His love and teachings in our community and around the world.

I am a member of the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches.  For more information my beliefs related to specific topics of interest, Click here to view the MB Confession of Faith.
