Finally, a Post!

So here it is, almost three months since my last post.  Bad, I know.  I wish I would have been better at keeping this blog up during the summer months.  I was just lacking motivation, which isn't like me when it comes to writing.  I'm not sure what happened . . . I was just in a slump I guess.  July was a particularly difficult month for me emotionally, as we had to put a kibosh on our summer holiday plans due to vehicle problems and house problems, which all added up to expenses that far-exceeded our income or budget. Thankfully, August has not brought as many financial challenges; however, due to July's bombardment of problems, I'm still working at catching up on paying bills and making sure "everyone's happy" in the world that exists beyond my own.  There have been times this summer that I wished I could just crawl into a hole and stay there.

But I will start blogging again now, reporting to you that I really dislike this time of year.  It's the time of year when I can see the end of August approaching on my calendar and I suddenly begin to internally panic.  I didn't get all the tasks completed that I had intended to start on July 1st . . . There are only 12 more sleeps until the boys start school again and I return to my job . . . How will we still fit in quality time while I try to complete all the "projects" I intended to complete in July, but didn't even get started on?  How can I still fit-in all the invitations for friends we had hoped to come for supper that never happened?  How will I ever be ready to begin homeschooling again when I have 101 other things on my to-do list? . . . and the list of things that put me into "secret-panic-mode" goes on and on.

One thing I do like about this time of year, however, is the fact that yard work will soon become less intense, and with that, the temperatures will be cooler and my beloved winter will return soon enough.  I must say, though, that I have enjoyed the summer weather for the most part.  Thus far, there have only been a few unbearably hot days, and it is unlikely that a heat wave will arrive anytime soon.

I'm not sure how to end this post, so I just will.  Until next time . . .

Good to hear from you again, Kim! I wish we could have had a visit this summer. I feel the same way -summer's almost over and I didn't get to do everything I wanted to do. Take care, my friend.

I'm pretty sure that we have all been riding the waves of blogging. I keep making an effort, but really need to get back on track.

I feel the same way about the end of summer, but usually the routine of fall activities and school is nice - once we adjust to it. I think this summer felt like it flew by faster since we had so many sunny days of fun, and so few rainy days in the house. I'm sad for it to end.

I actually put something on my blog this morning--amazing I know.
Since I'm in a totally different space than you, I'm looking forward to the routine of the fall. But, like you, I didn't get near the stuff done this summer that I set out to do...however, I have learned not to fret. If my relationships grew over the summer, then mission accomplished. Nothing else really matters anyway!!!!!!!

Kimmy,

Oh I love your honesty. You're amazing to blog and invite others over and homeschool. I too sometimes get overwhelmed by the tasks in front of me, but I'm grateful we only have to survive the day. Trust you'll have a wonderful, fruitful fall.

Thanks for stopping by my blog btw! I've entered you in the contest. :)

Mel

I am sorry to hear about your financial setbacks. Hope you enjoyed your stay at home time to your best.

your beloved winter (really?) I am sad to see summer inching its way out, and fall soon approaching...but after last years winter in CT~ I am not to fond of fall which edges us into winter (we had like 9 feet of snow last year!)

Take care Kimmy...hope all is well.
