Today I am thankful for . . .
997. The gift of Holding a 15-Day-Old Baby. The boys and I helped out at Toddler Gym Time this morning, which is held weekly at our church . . . today I got to meet a mom and her two daughters (they just started attending our church, but I hadn't met them yet). For over an hour I got to enjoy the warmth of a newborn baby girl in my arms--just a little taste of heaven for me:)
998. The gift of "People Encounters" Today. We left the house at 9:00 a.m. and got home around 10:30 p.m. Our entire day was spent interacting with people of various ages and from various walks of life. Some of the people we encountered today we've known for a long time. Others were people we just met today for the first time. I love how God brings people into my life on a regular basis and uses them to bless me in subtle and obvious ways.
999. The gift of Mini LED Christmas Trees. I bought three mini-trees at JYSK today (I think they're about 12 inches tall) . . . they look like glass, and when you turn them on, they randomly change colors. The boys each have one to put in their bedrooms, and I think I'll put mine in my kitchen or living room. Over the next few days we plan to start our decorating for Christmas around here . . . today we listened to Christmas music as we travelled throughout the city, and this morning there is a light, powdery blanket of snow covering our yard. I feel so inspired, and if you didn't already know this about me, Christmas is my favourite time of year!

Christmas is my favourite time of year too--as you can tell by the fact that I had my little tree up for 2 weeks already.
I love those little LED trees from JYSK. I've bought a number of Christmas items from that store. YAY!
So beautiful the way you are teaching your boys what the TRUE meaning of Christmas is all about.
