Message from God

Today I am thankful for . . .

806.  The gift of Attending Vetavision with My Boys.  Vetavision is an interactive exhibition put on by local university students studying to become veterinarians.  I had a very fun day with my boys, learning many interesting things about animal medicine.  The boys got to "pretend" to do surgery on a small animal, put their hand inside a living cow's stomach, touch and feel the tongue, trachea, esophagus, lungs and heart of a (dead) pig, interact with various breeds of dogs, horses, sheep, chickens, llamas, pigs, goats and cows, as well as many other gross and wonderful things that could only be experienced at Vetavision.

807.  The gift of Discovering a New Place to Eat.  This restaurant served us some pretty delicious takes on poutine.  The restaurant serves more than poutine, but that's what we went there for.  Mitchell and I shared a poutine covered in smoked pulled pork and coleslaw.  Ty had traditional poutine.  I know what we ate wasn't healthy, but it sure was good.  For anyone who lives in my area of the world . . . FYI . . . the restaurant is called Schryer's.

808.  The gift of A Message I Received from God Today.  It was not an audible message, but rather, something that "popped" into my head as I started becoming impatient over something that we are in the process of doing, and this something requires patience on my part.    This was God's message to me:  "I am God.  I am in control.  If you are waiting with an impatient heart, you are not really trusting me.  I have this taken care of and you need to trust.  I will drag this decision on for as long as I need to so that you will understand my power."  Cool message, but just a little bit hard to hear.

We ate at Schryer's on our way to B.H. from M.J. because it seemed "new to us" (i.e. wasn't there when we lived there). It was really good, though we didn't have the poutine. Maybe next time. As I was sitting there, I was wondering if you guys had eaten there before (when I was still visualizing you on the north side of the city!) and thought it would be a great place to meet up. Glad you enjoyed your meal.
