Cheesecake Again

Today I am thankful for . . .

721.  The gift of Special "Chore" Projects for the Boys.  Wayne's cutting down dead trees in the yard this week and he's always got some "job" for the boys to do while he's away at work.  They usually complain about this to me (away from their dad:() but they always get their "jobs" done, and seem to enjoy the work once they're actually doing it.  What boys wouldn't like to use saws and heavy-duty tree clippers?

722.  The gift of Homemade Pizza and Butterscotch Banana Cheesecake.  Yes, I'm mentioning the cheesecake again, but that's because tonight we got to actually eat it and it was SO delicious.  I'll definitely be making that one again.  For anyone who doesn't like the "cheesy" taste of traditional baked cheesecakes, this might be one for you to try--the banana and butterscotch totally masked the cheesy flavour.  Not that I mind the cheesy flavour in cheesecakes (actually, I kind of missed it), but if you can believe this, there are actually people in this world who don't like cream cheese, and as a result, don't eat cheesecake.

723.  The gift of A Family of Four who came to visit,  This family has almost-two-year-old twin boys, and they are SO adorable; Mitchell and Ty love playing with the little boys, I love hanging out with their mom and Wayne and their dad are just starting to get to know each other.

724.  The gift of Seeing The Gentle Side of Pepper.  I was going to put Pepper into the kennel when the little boys came to visit (for their safety), but we tried having her out with us while we were playing, and she was amazing with these toddlers.  She kept bringing them her Kong (a rubberized cone-shaped throw toy) to throw, and they would toss it (not very far . . . just high enough into the air for her to jump and catch it) and then she'd bring it back to them and gently deposit her toy into their hands so that the process could begin all over again.  If you've ever met Pepper, you know that this dog never tires of playing with her Kong.  I think playtime with the twins was the highlight of her day.
