Visiting

Today I am thankful for . . .

444.  The gift of Celebrating Birthdays.  We celebrated my nephew's birthday and Ty's birthday today with family.  It is always great to get together with my parents and sister and her family.  Ty's birthday isn't for over a week, but this was the best time to get together to celebrate.

445.  The gift of A Potential Tick Cure.  We have so many ticks on our yard this year it isn't even funny.  Thankfully, I received some tips from friends about a tick-repellent that you can buy for your dogs.  Pepper has suffered the most from all the ticks, so she's now been treated and hopefully what we've done will keep the ticks away!

446.  The gift of Visiting My Husband's Favourite Store with him and the boys.  Cabelas.  We had fun.

Is the tick cure only for pets, or is it something people can do too? You really must share! Isaac has already had Lyme disease once (it was terrible!) and the ticks are really thick here, plus disease-ridden. We live in woods with lots of deer around, so have the potential to pick up ticks on a daily basis. I can't tell you how many people I know who have been treated for Lyme disease...some more than once.

Michelle . . . I believe the treatment is for dogs only. And the label specifically said it was toxic to cats . . . and human contact with the dog after treatment should be limited immediately following. I'm not sure exactly how it works, but we bought a pkg. that has a three-month's supply - one treatment per month. It also wards off mosquitoes (also a huge problem here) and fleas. I really hope it works on our dog; she has had over 20 ticks removed already; Ty has had one that was imbedded and the rest of the family has had them on them, but not yet imbedded. Lyme disease is not really something I want to deal with. How scary for you guys:(
